To enhance a football club and to make it attractive on the international market, we need projects that go in the right direction and which are currently already pursued by many top clubs at European level. The 4 fundamental points on which to insist in order to change course with respect to the old corporate scheme which only provided for the revenues from the match day, from the capital gains in the sale of the most important players and from the television rights (especially those of the Champions League) are those listed below:
- Stadium owned by the Club (it is no longer admissible to have rented stadiums owned by the State with the athletic track, which greatly reduces visibility and participation in the sporting event)
- Club Owned Sports Center (currently there are some clubs that are for rent).
- Plan investments in the youth sector, in the Academies, with the creation of the “Cantera” which has already been experimented by many European Top Clubs, with the consideration that they are not lost costs at all, but rather they are growth opportunities not only for young people that are selected in that specific territory, but also a solid and concrete social project in the place where it is carried out. (Think of the positive impact it has on AS Roma society, while it is a missed opportunity for Napoli Calcio)
- Creating a well-defined Corporate Structure with its own headquarters, with its own building and with a staff that is entirely dedicated to the growth and development projects of the football club, this does not always happen, because some Club Owners mix the work activities of the their main business with that of the football team, this leads to a confusion in roles and a lack of concentration in achieving the pre-established goals. (For example, the project of the AC Milan club is very nice, which built about 6/7 years ago a building in the city of Milan, called Casa Milan, a clear and precise point of reference for all those who are in the world of football and want interface with the Club in question)
This brief analysis and these insights are nothing more than advice for those clubs playing in the Top 5 Leagues in Europe, who want to consolidate their international presence and want to create a more developed model to give continuity to their team’s performance in the future. which many times is the expression of a certain territory, which manages to be a driving force for the economic and industrial development of that city / region that will benefit from the induced caused by excellent investments of the Property, which will always be remembered in the memory of the fans and of the whole community.
