AC Milan players will travel with Italian fashion. Etro has become the official travel accessories sponsor of the soccer team. The club and the brand will collaborate until the end of the 2020-2021 season, according to the agreement they have signed. As part of the sponsorship, Etro will provide Italian players with various travel accessories, including a cabin bag, a backpack and a toiletry bag. All items have a custom design for each player with their initials and jersey number, as well as the classic red and black striped print, symbol of the team. Agreements between fashion companies and sports teams have a long history. The largest clubs sign sponsorship contracts with different brands in the sector, which provide players with clothing and accessories to attend events or official trips.
The players of the first team of FC Barcelona, for example, have been wearing Thom Browne since the 2018-2019 season. The American company has also created this year a collection of clothing and accessories inspired by the club that launched on October 21. For its part, the Atlético de Madrid squad has been sponsored by Philipp Plein since this year. The Swiss company, which will dress the mattress club for four seasons, already had a presence in the sports sector, after having collaborated with Roma and Monaco. Real Madrid has a contract with Hugo Boss since the 2016-2017 season, which also extends to the first basketball team. The German brand has also dressed PSG players since 2014. Manchester City has been wearing DSquared2, with whom it has collaborated for four seasons. Juventus FC, in turn, has a contract with the Italian brand Trussardi, which is responsible for dressing the squad off the field.
