The Cumana “Mostra” Station, in the Fuorigrotta district, will be dedicated to Diego Armando Maradona, enriched with murals of the Napoli players, with the great champions of Italian history, from the great Diego and Careca, to Canè, up to Cavani and Hamsik: in total 130 characters that adorn the panels of the 300 meter long quay. Among the faces of Napoli depicted there is also that of the president of Calcio Napoli, Aurelio De Laurentiis, who will be present at the inaugural ceremony together with the governor of Campania, Vincenzo De Luca and the Eav president, Umberto De Gregorio. The ribbon cutting took place on Saturday 5 December 2020. The EAV, the transport company chaired by Umberto De Gregorio, has already issued a service order that provides for the suspension of the passenger service and the closure of accesses for the Mostra station, “For reasons of public order”, from 11 to 13.30. In order not to cause damage to travelers, a replacement shuttle bus service will be established between the Mostra and Fuorigrotta stations, in compliance with the train service timetables.
After the San Paolo Stadium, therefore, two stations and a square in Naples will also be dedicated to Diego Armando Maradona, who died last November 25. The governor Vincenzo De Luca, in short, is ready to beat the mayor Luigi De Magistris, who announced two days ago the desire to name the other Mostra station, that of Line 6, after Maradona, which however will only open next year. . Currently, in fact, the light metro is closed to the public due to the expansion works. On 1 December, Mayor De Magistris carried out an inspection of the Mostra Station of Line 6 of the Metro, a station which in the intentions of the municipal administration will be called ‘Mostra-Maradona’. The inspection was used to verify the state of work of the station which, together with the line and the exhibition on the Argentine champion, is aiming to open in May next year. The first citizen was with the sole administrator of Anm (pubblic company of transports), Nicola Pascale, with the technical manager of the procedure Serena Riccio and with the subway technicians.
Between the governor De Luca and the blue patron Aurelio De Laurentiis, however, there is a great feeling. The Azzurri President has never hidden his sympathies for the former sheriff of Salerno, who also financed the restyling of the San Paolo Stadium with the Universiade with over 21 million euros, for which some work on the roof is still in progress. While the project to renovate the stadium in the Municipality, with the law on stadiums, was wrecked, which did not pass the scrutiny of the technicians of Palazzo San Giacomo.
