The Italian Super Cup changes its name and is linked to a prestigious sponsor. The match between Juventus and Napoli that will be played on Wednesday 20 January 2021 at the Mapei Stadium in Reggio Emilia will in fact take the name of ‘PS5 Supercup’. The new name stems from a partnership agreement reached by Lega Serie A and Sony Interactive Entertainment Italia, with the PlayStation 5 brand which will therefore be sponsor of the event. This is the press release on the matter which also contains the words of CEO Luigi De Siervo: “Lega Serie A and Sony Interactive Entertainment Italia announce that they have reached an important partnership agreement on the occasion of the 2020 Italian Super Cup, which will see each other compete on Wednesday 20 January 2021 at “Mapei Stadium – Città del Tricolore” of Reggio Emilia, Juventus, first in Serie A TIM last season, and Napoli, winner of the last edition of the Coca-Cola Italian Cup.

PlayStation®5 will be Title Sponsor of the competition, which therefore takes on the name of PS5 Supercup.

Thanks to this partnership, the international development path undertaken by Lega Serie A continues and the link between the world of football and PlayStation, a symbol of entertainment and innovation, is consolidated. A partnership path that began with the birth of the new eSports eSerie A TIM competition, of which PlayStation 4 is the main partner and exclusive console, and which is strengthened with the PS5 Supercup. Initiatives to engage the public at home through gaming, social and digital platforms will be unveiled in the coming weeks, so as to ensure a well-rounded experience for fans before, during and after the PS5 Supercup match.
