SSC Napoli has a new official partner for the Training Center, from 1 July 2021 the structure will be called SSC Napoli Konami Training Center, with a brand new gaming area for players and guests. This comes after the signing of a long-term collaboration agreement between the parties: the SSC Napoli license will be present exclusively in the eFootball PES series starting from the 2022/23 season.
Naoki Morita, President of Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. stated: “With this partnership agreement between our companies, we will further strengthen the position of eFootball PES as the definitive video game for Italian football fans. Demonstrating confidence in our long-term plans, we are honored by the fact that SSC Napoli have decided to sign this exclusive agreement with Konami”.
The agreement provides that the famous football simulation video game Pro Evolution Soccer (PES), produced by Konami, will be the only one to be able to obtain a fully authorized reproduction of Napoli and its members (which has already happened with Juventus and Rome previously): in the home of the Azzurri Team, where the players train daily, there will also be a brand new area dedicated to gaming that can be used by members, professionals and guests. On FIFA, on the other hand, popular competitor of EA Sport, the Neapolitan team will have to be registered with another name (for example Juventus FC is present in FIFA 21 as “Piemonte Calciol”).
Serena Salvione, International Development Manager at Società Sportiva Calcio Napoli, commented: “We are happy to launch this exclusive partnership with an international and innovative brand like KONAMI to be able to create exclusive content and experiences for Napoli fans. KONAMI has further linked its name to the Napoli brand by acquiring the naming rights of the sports center. This partnership is only the latest step in the wider work aimed at the internationalization of the Napoli brand and which has been undertaken by the club in recent years. “
